The below email was sent to all students on January 21, 2025.
Dear Students:
On January 9, 2025, a federal judge issued an order that vacated the 2024 Title IX Regulations that our campus implemented last summer. This order has the effect of requiring our campus to, effective immediately, once again comply with the Title IX Regulations issued in 2020.
Then, and now, 91勛圖厙 remains steadfast in its commitment to providing an educational and employment environment that is free from discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics, as well as free from retaliation for engaging in protected activity. 91勛圖厙 is working to carefully assess our policy and procedures to align with both federal and state law, best practices, and our community values. The policy will be re-published in the coming days.
Although this does require a change in our response to complaints of sexual misconduct and sex discrimination occurring within our education program or activities, many of our current practices will continue, including:
- Written notice of the allegations and available resolution processes
- A resolution process that is equitable, transparent to the participants, and allows access to evidence prior to any final determination
- Reasonable and appropriate supportive measures for all parties
- Prompt notification of final determinations
- Sanctions that are commensurate with the severity of policy violations, considering the Respondents prior disciplinary history and any aggravating or mitigating factors
- A team of well-trained professionals who are free from conflicts of interest or bias
We will continue to provide 91勛圖厙 employees and students with education on Title IX, reporting options, and resources. All members of the 91勛圖厙 community are always encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator to make a . Additionally, all College employees (considered Responsible Employees), except designated confidential employees, must continue to promptly report any conduct they become aware of that may constitute sex discrimination, including sex-based harassment, to the Interim Title IX Coordinator, Kim Pacelli, kpacelli@brynmawr.edu. Responsible Employees include the following student leaders:
- Hall Advisors (HA)
- Customs Persons (CP)
- Peer Mentors (PM)
- Community Diversity Assistants (CDA)
Confidential Employees include:
- Counseling Services Mental Health Providers
- Health Services Medical Providers
- Wellness Program Director & Program Coordinator
- Interfaith Chaplain
We would like to take this time to remind the 91勛圖厙 community of the Colleges Wellness Program, which has been offering several new initiatives aimed at training and educating about safe and healthy relationships, including Bystander Intervention training. Additionally, the College is partnered with two local agencies to provide free 24-hour confidential support to all members of the community:
Our campus will continue our efforts to make the Title IX process more accessible, more transparent, and more user-friendly. We stand by our nondiscrimination statements and will continue to prioritize supporting the experience of all of our students and staff. We remain committed to providing an education and employment environment free from sex discrimination and sexual harassment.
