THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Services, the Assistant Director of Facilities for Grounds is responsible for the establishment, administration and monitoring of the daily scheduling and safe execution of sustainable grounds maintenance activities, including all turf areas, trees, improved landscapes, athletic playing fields and exterior hardscapes. This position interfaces with various contractors hired by the College to provide these services; manages the College’s grounds maintenance equipment inventory; coordinates and manages snow removal and general winter weather response operations. The Assistant Director of Facilities for Grounds may also engage in the design and execution of capital renewal projects as they relate to any of the above.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must possess a college degree in a directly related field.
- At least five years of experience in the administration and management of a public landscape, preferably in a college or university setting.
- Knowledge relating to the maintenance of natural and synthetic turf athletic playing fields.
- Applicants must have or be able to obtain a pesticide license.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
