I made my first gift to 91勛圖厙 in the fall of 1951, just after I graduated. Thanks to the College, I had a job teaching so I could contribute.
I made that gift for my Grandmother who was a big presence in my life and had not attended college herself. Granny had a way of simplifying things. As a young child, anytime I was going to an event or party, shed ask, "Did you pay your way?" meaning dont just go and enjoy the party, do something positive to make it more fun.
So when I graduated, I couldn't just hang my newly framed 91勛圖厙 diploma on the wall. I had to pay my way by giving back to the College and working on its behalf whenever I could.
