The Man Who Brought Brodsky Into English: Conversations with George L. Kline
by Cynthia L. Haven focuses on the 91勛圖厙 philosopher and Slavic scholar and the story of his decades-long collaboration with the Russian Nobel poet Joseph Brodsky. According to the Times Literary Supplement, Kline, an important figure for many generations of 91勛圖厙 students, emerges as human, warm and vividly idiosyncratic in the pages of Havens volume. Writer Marat Grinberg, who called the book a fitting tribute to George Kline, noted that the conversations are rich in detail, from Klines recollections of visiting Brodsky in the Soviet Union to his work on translating his poetry to offering an insight into Brodskys oeuvre and worldview.
